Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Sarah Halfpenny Events collects, uses and protects personal data when you use this website or enquire about services. It is written in plain English because that is how we prefer to communicate.

Sarah Halfpenny Events is a sole trader based in London, United Kingdom and is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us at hello@sarahhalfpennyevents.com.

What data we collect and why

We only collect personal data that you provide to us directly, or that is generated automatically when you browse the site.

Enquiry and contact forms. When you submit a form on this website we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss and arrange services. The legal basis for this is legitimate interests — you have reached out to us, and processing your data is necessary to respond.

Newsletter sign-up. If you subscribe to Notes from 600 Events, we collect your name and email address. We use these to send the newsletter. The legal basis is consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

Booking and discovery calls. If you book a call through a scheduling tool linked from this site, that tool (currently Calendly) collects the information you provide during booking. Please refer to Calendly’s own privacy policy for details of how they handle that data. We receive your name, email and any notes you include, which we use to prepare for and conduct the call.

Website analytics. This site uses privacy-friendly analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, time on site, referral source). No personally identifiable information is collected and no cross-site tracking is used. IP addresses are anonymised.

Cookies. This site uses only functional cookies necessary for the site to operate. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. A cookie notice is shown on your first visit. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

How long we keep your data

Enquiry data is retained for as long as it is relevant to a potential or active client relationship, and for up to three years after our last contact. If you become a client, we retain relevant correspondence and contract information for seven years in line with standard UK accounting and legal requirements. Newsletter subscriber data is held for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your data is deleted within 30 days.
